Vine Street Chorley taken 15th January 2024

Vine Street Chorley just off Parker street leading to Garden terrace, this is apparently one of the oldest streets in Chorley and one of if not the last streets to still have the original cobbles. The residents were asked if they wanted it tarmacked but they said no just leave it as it is. The end of this terrace had about 4 more houses at the end going down to water st. But they were destroyed by German bombers targeting the old gas tanks nearby in WW2.
The black and white photo is of the opposite end of vine Street taken from near the now animal hospital near the old gas tanks. Around the 1960s

Congress Street Chorley.
